Things to remember about eating a Salad for your Entree'
- Use Romaine Lettuce
- Vegetables/fruit: carrots, tomatoes, stawberries, cranberries, cucumbers
- Peppers: red, yellow, orange
- Nuts: almonds, walnuts, pecans
- Cheese: gorganzola, feta, blue cheese, chedder
- Boiled eggs or egg whites
- Dressing with lower sugar, carbs, sodium: Italian, Balsamic Vingerette
- Keep salad dressing to a minimum.
- You only need 2 tbs (one servering) of salad dressing to coat an entire plate of salad.
- Keep salad healthy by not over using dressing.
- While eating out, ask for dressing on the side.
